The Next Step: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

What Is An Intensive Outpatient Program?

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is typically the next step after completing a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). It is significantly different than a Residential Program or Inpatient Program, which is the type of facility that’s similar to a hospital setting. At an Intensive Outpatient Program, clients have more freedom to resume daily life while progressing through addiction treatment. In some cases, it may be appropriate to begin at this level of treatment, depending on individual needs. Our Director of Admissions will work closely with prospective clients and their families to determine the appropriate course of treatment prior to admission.

Peak Recovery offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment both with or without Community Housing. Should you decide to reside in community housing, you will share a sober home with other peers who participate in our treatment program. Peak Recovery offers transportation on a daily basis where clinical services are offered. This helps ensure sobriety because clients will have the accountability necessary during early recovery while also having the freedom to facilitate transition back into life. Peak Recovery also works alongside an affiliated Sober Living Community should you choose this course of treatment. Our Intensive Outpatient Program offers group therapy sessions 6 days per week to accommodate those who are employed or have other responsibilities. Over the course of the week, clients will participate in 15-25 hours of group therapy to include 1 hour of individual therapy. Similar to PHP, we provide a variety of therapeutic services ranging from behavioral therapy to relapse prevention.
